On December 20th, the Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory again hosts an Audubon Christmas Bird Count, which is the nation’s longest-running community science bird project! Everyone is welcome to join us in counting as many birds as we can in our Sunriver Count!
You can participate whether you are an experienced birder, a beginner or just someone who enjoys volunteering outdoors to have fun and make a difference. Each count team is led by an experienced birder who will assist in identifying the species found by the volunteers. This is a great opportunity to deepen your knowledge of our local winter birds!
Volunteers can take advantage of our Bird Count Kid’s Day from 9 am to 1 pm. This special day of camp will be full of fun bird based activates!!
