The Story of Earth’s Moon

Human’s have looked up that the moon in wonder from the beginning of recorded history.   What was once a mysterious orb in the sky is now a place where humans have actually walked.

 Join the observatory staff at Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory on Thursday, February 20th, for a the 2nd of our 2025 Twilight Talk Lecture Series. This informative talk will explore the science behind the Earth’s Moon, how our understanding and methods of understanding its formation, and influence in our planet.

The evening will begin at 4:00 p.m. with light appetizers and refreshments, providing a great opportunity to meet the presenters and ask any preliminary questions. The lecture will start at 4:30 p.m. at our Pozzi Education Building  The lectures will last approximately 45 minutes to an hour and will be followed by a Q&A session.

Enjoy an observatory viewing session after the program by registering for a special 1-Hour program that starts at 6:30

 

While donations to support Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory are appreciated, they are not required.

 

The Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory is located at 57245 River Road, just off circle 3 on the way to the stables and marina.

Cancellation Policy

For cancellations received more than five business days prior to the program date, a full refund, minus a 20% cancellation fee, will be issued. Refunds and exchanges will not be issued for missed programs, cancellations made five or fewer business days prior to the program date, or for programs with registration fees less than $10. No partial refunds, credits, or exchanges will be offered for unattended sessions in a program series.
