Do you know what it takes to be a wildlife ambassador? Animals in human care offer us the opportunity to observe species we may otherwise never see or only encounter from a distance. They provide us with a unique glimpse into their lives, adaptations, perceptions, and interactions, helping us connect in ways that inspire empathy and action.
Join the wildlife staff at Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory on Thursday, January 23rd to kick off our 2025 Twilight Talk Lecture Series. This informative talk will explore the science behind animals in human care, how our understanding and methods have evolved over the years, and the unique history of our resident wildlife. We will also include many of our wildlife ambassadors in an up-close and personal meeting, showcasing their adaptability and charm.
The evening will begin at 4:00 p.m. with light appetizers and refreshments, providing a great opportunity to meet the presenters and ask any preliminary questions. The lecture will start at 4:30 p.m. You can attend the lectures in person at our Pozzi Education Building or online through Zoom. If you opt for the online option, you’ll receive the Zoom link after registering. The lectures will last approximately 45 minutes to an hour and will be followed by a Q&A session. While donations to support Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory are appreciated, they are not required.
